Record Year For Kirkby Crocs
Local Badminton Club, Kirkby Crocodiles, have broken all records in the Nottinghamshire Badminton League this season, their seven teams winning no less that six titles, with five of the teams having an unprecedented, unbeaten, 100% record. This far exceeds their excellent results over the past two seasons when they won four titles in the 2003-2004 season and two in the 2002-2003 season. It is such a far cry from their first season 2001-2002, when with five teams they only managed to win one game between them.
Only formed in 2001 the club has progressed to such an extent, that the first ladies team has now been promoted to Division One and the first men’s team to Division Two. Due to the publicity that has come from these excellent results, several County players have now joined the club, which should help us to continue to succeed. It is obviously going to get tougher as we progress up the league tables and we are hoping to attract more players of ability, to further strengthen our squad and enable us to get to the very top.

Our other local club Byron also had their share of success this season, with their first mixed team winning the Division One Mixed title and being promoted to the Premiership and their second mixed team winning Division 2A Mixed and being promoted to Division One.
