CHILWELL OLYMPIA
Extra usage at Chilwell Olympia of NBA badminton courts for Sport England and NBA development plan. During the summer a “Summer Junior Badminton Camp will run on a Saturday morning. The new club will start when the Chilwell Olympian JBC finishes for the season. Cost of attendance - £3 per session. Chilwell Comp School will host a “Taster Day” for Y6 Primary school children.

2 new non affiliated non-league BC have started:-

• City Community Club Ellis Guilford Sports College every Tuesday
• Hucknall LC

Existing non affiliated - non league clubs-:

• Elliott Durham LC, Mapperley, Nottingham
• Chilwell Olympia Friday’s

Anyone making enquiries to start to play badminton whatever the standard need to access these clubs.

YOUTH GAMES
The trials for the YG started to take place W/C 24th April 2006

8 Local Authorities taking part.
4-6 week Squad training given.

Youth Games Day Saturday 8th July 2006.

Venue- Harvey Haddon Stadium.

NB County Juniors invited to help and demonstrate

COUNTY AUDIT FOR BADMINTON ENGLAND
A County Audit for NBA is taking place for all schools, Leisure Centres, School Sports Partnerships, Sports Colleges, and Universities. Also registered coaches in the county

Nottinghamshire have 8 “Club mark” Silver.

This at present for badminton is the most in the Country. All clubs should be aware that this is the way forward for all sports.

NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY
Nottingham Trent University have identified a need to restart badminton in the Univ both for staff and students.

Following a recent meeting it was agreed for the following:-

• Staff & existing badminton club to arrange “Taster Week “for all staff to drop into sometime in July during lunch hour it will be called “NO EXCUSES”.
• This programme will run for 1 week at both Shakespeare Street, and Clifton Campus.
• After this trial a 4-6 week Adult Coaching sessions for staff will be offered.
• An internal tournament will be held for players and club members to help integrate new members into the club.
• The existing club has agreed that they desperately need new members and will work with Development Officer to promote this new project.
• Hopefully this will inject new members into the club
• Development officer to work with students to restart & reform badminton Leagues into the University. So that they can to re- affiliate to NBA & BE
