President's Report 2006

Opening Remarks at AGM - 2006

I would like to welcome you all here this evening.

I would like to congratulate all those many people who have kept Nottinghamshire's name on the badminton map both in this country and abroad.

As you will see from the many reports there is a lot to celebrate in the last twelve months.

The schools and juniors have done us proud at all age groups with National and International honours. I would like to single out the Under 17 National Squad who won the European Six Nations for the first time, thanks in no small part to Chris Adcock who was undefeated in all men's and mixed matches.

The Veterans Over 65's were National Champions.

The County 1st 2nd and 3rd teams all gained promotion, with the 1st and 3rd teams winning every match.

We have been well represented with medals coming back from both the Commonwealth Games and The European Championships - Congratulations to Nathan Robertson, Anthony Clark and David Lindley on their success at full international level.

Congratulations to all those club teams who gained promotion in their respective league.

Commiserations if you were not so lucky or got relegated.

Finally my thanks go to all the hard working secretaries and committee members who keep each of our clubs running. Also thanks go to our County Committee for running this association so well.

Stewart Hague - President of Nottinghamshire Badminton Association
