Treasurer's Report
for the Year Ended 31st March 2006
A full copy of the accounts for 2005/06 is available on the website (in PDF format). However, in my report I would like to comment on the main points shown within these accounts. Copies of the accounts will also be available at the AGM.
Starting with the General Fund Income and Expenditure
Account, this shows:
* Net income of £2,923 - slightly down
last year, and
* Expenditure of £12,626 - This significant increase
is due to County Expenses increasing and a grant to Kirkby College of £4,000.
This gives a deficit of £9,703 for the year. I have therefore transferred £9,000 from the Hall Management Fund to cover this deficit to give a General Fund balance of £265 as at 31st March 2006.
The Hall Management Fund Income and Expenditure Account
shows:
* Income is down by £5,925 - This is entirely due to
a fall in rents due to the unavailability of the courts during the summer.
*
Total expenditure of £11,500 is a slight decrease from the previous year.
This gives a surplus after depreciation of £13,406. Transfers have been made to the other funds to leave a fund balance at the end of the year of £13,160.
The Development Fund Income and Expenditure Account shows:
* A slight fall in income to £4,645, and
* Expenditure
falling by £2,314.
This gives a deficit of £11,162 for the year. £11,000 has been transferred from the Hall Management Fund to give a Development Fund balance of £6,459 at the 31st March 2006.
There has been little activity on the remainder of the
funds and after transfers the balances of the funds are as follows:
£28,553
for the Hall Maintenance Fund
£108,144 for the Hall Building Fund, and
£3,253
for the MJ Denman Fund.
The Balance sheet shows that the Association has a healthy balance as at the 31st March 2006.
Finally I would like to propose that since subscription income has remained at only slightly below last years level, affiliation fees for the 2006/07 season payable to Notts. BA, including the current rebates, remain the same. This will, however, need to be reviewed next year should subscriptions continue to fall.
Thank You.
