Web Report 2004/05

Our website team of John Sawyer, Paul Bexon and Mark Ransom have worked hard this year to improve and expand the contents of the Notts BA website - www.nottsba.co.uk.

In addition to our existing match results, where we show a summary of Mens, Ladies and Mixed league tables and detailed breakdowns of the individual divisions, we have now introduced a new results summary for each individual club.  This allows a club to view how their various teams are faring.

A new ‘one-stop’ Clublinks page has been introduced.  This allows club or league details to be located quickly and easily.

After numerous emails asking for ‘the nearest badminton club to their home address’, we have introduced a location map of Notts BA clubs.  The interactive map displays information about venues and shows which clubs play at the venue.

This year saw another first as we set up a trial system for submitting match results via email. Whilst not intended as a replacement for the existing match cards, this allowed us to post the results quickly onto the website, giving a much clearer picture of clubs' positions in the league. We intend to roll this service out to more clubs next season - if you would like more information about this facility, email John Sawyer at jsrackets@aol.com.

The Nottingham Evening Post weekly badminton league reports continued to appear infrequently this year and when reports were printed, they were often heavily edited and results removed.  In order to provide a better service to the county, the Notts BA website is now publishing the full unedited versions of the results page.

We continue to try and bring the latest news and information about badminton in the Nottinghamshire area.  If anyone has any articles, news or photographs that they would like to submit to us, we’d be pleased to receive them. The email address for news articles is paul_alison20@hotmail.com.

The web team will continue to improve and update the Notts BA site.  If anyone has any suggestions or anything they would like to see on the website, write to us at paul_alison20@hotmail.com.
