Masters 50s through to County Championship Finals

On Saturday 26th March, Nottingham staged the Masters League Play Offs at Chilwell Olympia.
Nott’s 50s team winners of the Midlands West League played Cambridgeshire winners of the Midlands East League. The wining team to progress to the County Championship Finals at Birmingham University over the weekend of April 23/24th.
Top men’s pair Adam Buck and Andy Cokayne got Nott’s off to a great start when they won both of their men’s games. Then the overall strength of the Nott’s Ladies proved to be too strong for Cambridgeshire when they took all four rubbers, all in two straight sets.
At this stage of the match, the score was 6-2 to Nott’s, requiring one Mixed rubber to win the match outright from the remaining four rubbers to be played. The team won three, resulting in a 9-3 win and will be representing the Midlands region in the Finals. Well done team.
