Nottingham's Anthony Clark and Nathan Robertson have turned their attention to next week's Djarum Indonesia Open after failing to defend their men's doubles title at the Singapore Open.
They were edged out by Denmark's European runners-up and third seeds Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen 14-21 21-19 21-19 in a 64-minute second round battle.
The English champions fought back after trailing 15-8 in the decider but could never close the gap to less than a two-points.
They must now stay focused for next week's Djarum Indonesia Open in Jakarta.
There was further upset for Clark in the mixed doubles as he and Heather Olver fell to world champions and second seeds Thomas Laybourn and Kamilla Juhl 21-11 21-14.
