Web Report 2010
As I hope you’ve noticed, Nottinghamshire Badminton Association’s website has had a much needed revamp for 2009/10.
Mark Ransom and I took the opportunity to ‘start from scratch’ and have (we hope) built a leaner, cleaner and modern looking website.
This inevitably meant that not all features from the old website have been incorporated, but we think that there are enough new areas of interest to compensate for this.
We now have dedicated sections for news, club details, league results and reports, Senior/Junior/Veteran County results and reports, Schools Badminton Association and disability sports.
There is also an events calendar, showing all forthcoming county league matches and tournaments.
Mark, working with Marshall Storey and Jenny Abbott, has produced full and up to date league results and tables.
The website has been visited approximately 15,500 times since the revamp in October 2009, and has recently been averaging 85 visits per day.
We have had a much improved relationship with the Nottingham Evening Post, who are now regularly publishing Senior League and County Veteran match reports. We have also been able to pass stories onto them, as the recent full page article on Arthur McTighe & Alan Hunt’s 50 year partnership illustrated.
Thanks must go to everyone involved in getting the new website up and running, particularly Jenny Abbott for her untiring help and advice.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank John Sawyer for the hard work that he put into the Notts BA website over the years.
