Masters 60s through to County Championship Finals

On Sunday 10th April, Nott’s 45s and 60s teams entertained Shropshire and Leicestershire respectively on their home courts at Chilwell Olympia. Both teams completing their final League matches of the season.

The 45s against Shropshire won two Men’s, three Ladies and three Mixed rubbers resulting in an 8-4 win and finish 2nd in the Midlands League only losing to League winner’s Derbyshire.

The 60s all round team strength proved to be too strong against Leicestershire when they won all four Men’s, three Ladies and all four Mixed rubber resulting in an 11-1 win to the home side.
The 60s have also convincingly beaten Worcestershire, Shropshire, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire, only losing six rubbers in total in the Midland league.
The 60s, together with Nott’s 50s team; will now progress to represent the Midlands in the County Championship Finals at Birmingham over the weekend of 23/24th April.

In the Finals, Nott’s 50s will play West of Scotland winners of the North division. Nott’s 60s will play Surrey winners of the South & East South division.
